Comeztier, attentive to new trends at the Anuga Fair in Germany

From 9 to 11 October the Anuga Fair 2017 was held in Cologne (Germany), one of the most important events in Europe and around the world regarding food and drink.

An inexcusable event to take the pulse of new trends, markets and products.

“Anyone who wants to have an idea of ​​how the world will eat and drink today and in the future has come to the right place in Anuga,” said Friedhelm Dornseifer, president of the German Association of German Retail Trade (BVLH).

On this occasion he broke the record with over 7,400 exhibitors from 107 countries and around 165,000 professional visitors from 198 countries.

The innovations, which as always are a key focus of the Anuga Fair, contributed to providing the industry with new impulses and ideas. These trending topics include foods and beverages that are high in protein, new products from the demanded superfood (super foods) and numerous new ideas ready-to-go / ready-to-eat (ready to use / ready to eat).

Sustainable concepts, as well as organic (organic) products, are still in high demand, vegetarian and vegan issues were also an important focus. Alternative protein sources have been a topic of intense media discussion.
